NIGERIA

Born in Nigeria, Vanessa relocated to Waterford, Ireland, at the age of six. Her passion for football was evident early on as she played underage football with Tramore AFC and represented county and regional teams. During her studies at University College Cork (UCC), Vanessa showcased her athletic talents as a player for Cork City Women’s Football Club.
2014

USA
In 2014, Vanessa accepted an opportunity to play university football in Michigan, USA. However, her promising career faced a challenge with an ACL injury. Undeterred, she recovered and graduated with an impressive 3.71 GPA in Wellness and Health Promotion, with a minor in Psychology.

2019
RETURNED to
IRELAND
Vanessa joined Wexford Youths in 2019. Over three seasons, she contributed to the team’s success, including a historic FAI Cup final victory at the Aviva Stadium.

2021
SIDELINED DUE TO ILLNESS
LONDON
Despite illness sidelining her during the 2021 season, Vanessa used this time to explore new opportunities. She participated in Ultimate Goal—a London-based TV show with Eni Aluko, Rachel Smith, and the Kmita twins—focused on discovering the next female football star.

2023
RETURNED to
FOOTBALL
In 2023, Vanessa made a celebrated return to the national league by signing with DLR Waves under coach Graham Kelly.

Beyond sports, Vanessa transitioned seamlessly into the world of media and storytelling. Her journey as a content creator began with experimenting on a fitness Instagram page and evolved with the creation of #BeingBlackandIrish, a YouTube series exploring the lives of successful Black young people raised in Ireland. This passion blossomed into further projects like Nesserpod and The Nesser Show, conversational-style interviews that deepened her impact as a storyteller. Vanessa also founded The Blueprint Ireland, an organization dedicated to nurturing and connecting Ireland's vibrant creative communities.

Vanessa is a prominent figure in the Irish media landscape. She focuses on producing engaging, informative content, inspiring audiences, and tackling important issues. She also hosts live events and makes frequent TV appearances, including on RTÉ’s Today Show.
